Objective:

My client is a Brussels based international bank. Their Technical Services team is responsible for the strategy of the various platforms, Middleware and software. The Mainframe, Storage and Business Messaging Support (BMS) engineering teams are gathered under the Mainframe and Solution' heading. These teams provide primarily support to systems which are centrally organised (as opposed to distributed systems). The Storage team itself handles all storage related equipment for both the Mainframe and the distributed systems (Windows, Unix and Linux).

The team is now looking for a Storage Engineer.

Tasks:

You will be part of a team of experts managing the Storage infrastructure.

Your main responsibilities will be:

- assist the team in day-to-day activities such as provisioning.

- ensure the stability of the production environment

- provide project support for storage related matters

- provisioning of Mainframe requests and provide 3rd level support.

Skills:

Brocade Switches (eg DCX)

EMC² Storage controllers (eg VMAX, VNX)

EMC² Networker

EMC² DataDomain (DD990)

You must have proven experience of minimum 5 years in a System Engineering position:
- a thorough technical understanding and demonstrated knowledge of EMC² disk storage systems and backup/restore software;
- experience to lead a project team for implementing small to medium sized projects;
- an appreciation continuous improvement principles (eg. LEAN, PSS, Whiteboard);
- ITIL, more specifically change management, incident management, problem management, release management.
- an appreciation of development languages such as PowerShell, VBScript, PERL and/or C#, ASP.NET will be a plus (but not essential!)
