Description
We require a Systems Support Engineer (Cloud) with SC Clearance for an initial 9 month contract role based on a client site in Milton Keynes to start asap.
Skills/experience required:
Experience of installing, configuring and managing high availability virtualised platforms, including:
NetApp Storage
Windows based Server
VMWare
Experience of installing, configuring and managing virtual machines within shared multi-client platforms, including:
Windows-based OS (2003 and 2008)
Experience of installing, configuring and managing various tools to manage and monitor virtual environments.
Networking knowledge.
The ability to work within a team.
Ability to work within process.
Role: The Client provides Cloud services across Government underpinned by a number shared hosting platforms.
Objectives
To support and maintain the shared hosting environments to meet service SLA's.
To interface with the project teams on future development of the platform.
The deliverables of this work are:
To support and maintain the Client's virtualised environments and cloud platform.
Skills transfer and development of the Client's employees for handover
You will work a standard 37.5 hrs per week Mon to Fri between the hours of 7.00am - 7.00pm.
You will be required to be On Call too which will be on a rota basis.
The role will be initially confined to activities within ICT but may expand to other technology teams.
