Oracle DBA
Contract duration: 6 months
Location: London
Rate: Up to £414 per day

Oracle DBA required with the following essential skills/experience:
* Extensive and demonstrated ability with hands on experience supporting Oracle Database software and Servers (10GR2 and 11GR2): installing, configuring, monitoring, backup and recovery, high availability, troubleshooting, capacity planning, upgrades (SQL versions/patches/hotfixes), security.
* Advanced user knowledge of UNIX (Solaris & Linux) and Windows. Unix/Windows Scripting required.
* Proven abilities to install, configure and manage of:
- Oracle 10G Application Server and Oracle Weblogic Server 11G.
- Oracle RAC and Cluster ( Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11GR2)
* Excellent command of backup & restore recovery procedures using both OS and Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
* Understanding of database administration skills, including:
- Grid Control 11G (Oracle Enterprise Manager)
- Oracle Infrastructure 11GR2
- Oracle ASM
- SQL and Oracle Database Server tuning
-Oracle Utilities (Oracle Datapump, SQL*Loader, OPatch, Oracle Net Manager, etc.)
- Oracle Flashback technology
- Oracle Partitioning
- Oracle Spatial
- Oracle Data Guard
* Demonstrated ability to prepare, review, test and execute SQL scripts and comprehensive knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL including:
- Database packages and triggers
- Understanding of the process models and relational data modelling
- Comprehensive understanding of DML and DDL.
* Experience of working Oracle database projects within a large corporate project delivery environment in accordance with a recognised methodology, preferably PRINCE 2 based.
* Knowledge of software development methods, tools and delivery using ITIL processes for Service Management. Knowledge of current developments in IT.
* ITIL: experience working with incidents, changes, problems.
* Experience of 24/7 oncall

Desirable:
* Demonstrated ability to install and support:
- Oracle Warehouse Builder
- Oracle OID
- Oracle 12c Grid Control
- Oracle 12c Database Server
* Experience with managing Oracle backups using products such as EMC Avamar, Legato, Tivoli.
* Oracle Architecture and HA Oracle Cluster experience - experience performing Oracle DBA function on High Availability systems using Oracle 10G/11G/IAS technologies.
* Exposure to blade and Solaris Zone technology
* Hands on experience of supporting and development of SQL 2005 or 2012.
Oracle Database Certifications (OCM, OCP, OCP, RAC, Performance Turning, etc) or similar. Oracle Database OCP or demonstrable relative experience is required to be considered for senior roles.

Oracle Database and Application Server technologies core to the organisation's data management strategy. The estate hosts a vast number of mission critical Oracle databases, ranging from databases which are megabytes in size to several terabytes. Our core activities include support, maintenance and improvement of critical services on the Oracle platforms, to ensure the business can continue to operate effectively. The Oracle Database and Server estate is continually evolving to use Oracle best practices and technologies. Working in an ITIL focused environment using mixed versions of Oracle from 10g to 11g, candidates will also be working in an Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Application Server (including Weblogic) environments.
