Description

The UI/Web Developer is accountable for the following objectives and deliverables:
  • Writing modular, scalable, testable HTML, CSS and Javascript code that is clean and standards-compliant and works with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks
  • Brings a sound sense of the principals of design, user experience, and narrative in interface
  • Creates html/css/javascript front end from a high resolution Photoshop comp where matching the design verbatim is critical
  • Creates html/css/javascript front end from a low resolution wireframe where advancing the design is critical
  • Applies knowledge of cross-browser feature support and rendering quirks to create cross browser/device compatible solutions


    • Proven record of UI/Web development on projects with the following skills:
  • Detailed knowledge of CSS layout including responsive design techniques
  • Good front end design skills and eye for detail
  • Object-oriented JavaScript skills
  • Experience using Test-driven development
  • Experience and/or interest in working further down the stack
  • Experience with making front ends compatible with open browser standards and IE8 and above
  • Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks, tools and workflow
  • Design patterns and Javascript MVC frameworks
  • Data-informed product development: analytics, A/B testing, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails
  • Experience with browser performance optimizations
