Summary:A leading Financial Software Firm in Boston that works with major Sell Side Brokerage Firms on Wall Street is actively looking for a mid level Java Engineer. The firm is an industry leader in the Financial Software Consulting space, yet maintains a start-up atmosphere in the office.
Specifically, the firm develops and implements mission critical software solutions for investment banks in the areas of inventory management, collateral optimization, financing, and risk. The core development team is looking for a mid level developer to come in, hit the ground running, and add significant value to the team.
What you Will Be Working On:
- Settlement Systems that accommodate the intricacies of worldwide markets and which track and process trade volumes in the tens of millions per day.
- Inventory optimization systems that implement linear programming solutions to dramatically improve securities availability for financing.
- Low latency real time global inventory management systems capable of tracking firm inventory in real time and accommodating extremely high daily trade volumes.
- All team members are involved in the full software development life cycle. This means developing requirements, designing, programming, implementing, testing, and (for a short time) supporting the applications built.
Qualifications:
The firm looks for developers who are technically adept, can master the Wall Street domain, and have the interpersonal skills to ask probing questions and continually grow.
Specific skills in the following areas:
- 3 - 7 years of development experience in a Java environment.
- Database skills in Oracle, Sybase, DB2, or SQL are a plus.
- Application architecture and design skills using XML, SOAP, Spring, etc. are a plus.
- Experience in the Financial Domain is a large plus.
