Basic FunctionResponsible for his department's quality management system.
Within the "matrix" organization, responsible for all aspects of design, bulk material procurement and construction covering discipline-engineering activities undertaken on proposals, projects and development programs in support of projects.
Responsible for discipline execution procedures and their implementations consistent with company objectives.
Responsible for selection of engineers for a project and provision of appropriate personnel, work processes and systems to project teams.
Qualified as a proven expert in a specific engineering profession, the position shall provide its expertise and contribute directly to the project execution, when requested, by assisting project management in solving problems, in developing remedial plans and support for other activities of the project.
Principal Accountabilities
Support requirements of proposals and projects by ensuring availability of appropriate resources.
Ensures that proposals and projects are monitored so that work processes and systems are implemented to support required objectives.
Ensures the work processes and systems are developed and improved.
Ensures quality control and quality assurance procedures are maintained, developed and improved.
Ensures development of personnel through direction, counseling, training and selection for specific activities. Establish and manage training and development budgets.
Performs annual personnel appraisals
Maintains contacts with, and obtain feed back from, personnel on projects and provide advice.
Identify requirements for additional personnel and approve selection of new employees.
Technical and Academic Requirements
BSc Degree or equivalent technical ability developed through practical experience gained in the appropriate discipline.
15 or more years progressive applicable experience with at least 7 years of experience in the Petrochemical or related industries and at least 3 years experience in management positions.
