A Senior SQL Server DBA is required to join a Sheffield based organisation on an initial 3 month contract. You will have solid experience of SQL Server 2008 R2/12 administration, as well as of development.Type: 3 Month+ Contract
Rate: £250 to £300 per day DOE
Location: Manchester
Start Date: 17th March
My client has a very large project launching in April, which will involve periods of 24 hour support - part of your role will be to deliver this. The work period will be an initial month of standard working days, 3 weeks of split shifts - you will be working 2 nights, and 3 days per week, in order to make sure that the vert large amount of data that they recieve in this period, will be processed correctly.
After this period, you will be involved in BAU activities for the next 2 months, while the huge amount of data is processed by the system.
They are looking for a senior DBA, that is not afraid to dig into data and find issues - while alot of issues are scripted for, with the amount of data they process, issues always crop up. You will not be involved in much performance turning or optimisation/backup's/DR - you will be involved in production support, and in finding data issues.
