Description
Large government department looking for the services of Senior Risk Management Specialists to actively lead and manage Programme level risks and issues and enhance existing risk and issues capability, including providing informed risk taking and the opportunity for innovation in achieving relevant programme outcomes. They will need to be able to actively engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, to conduct ongoing risk assessments
The services will include and not be limited to:
- Work closely with senior management, Program and Project professionals including business, ICT, change management and training teams;
- Analyse the programme and organisational change related impacts and identify risks which may hinder the delivery of planned change and stated benefits;
- Liaise with a range of business areas to understand the associated risks; develop and implement mitigation strategies to support staff and other stakeholders in the event risks are realised;
- Manage a generic process that can be applied to the activities, decisions and operations that will ensure uniformity in application of risk/issue management across relevant programmes;
- Review all active risks and issues on a regular basis and provide summary reports to senior management and Executive committees;
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Extensive track record of successful risk and issues management of significant and complex IT enabled programs
- Proven ability to implement strategies to enhance risk management planning
- Proven experience in managing risks and issues and adhering to stage gates
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Experience in managing stakeholder interests and client expectations and escalating issues and risks where appropriate
- Ability to work for large and diverse projects or programmes in a complex environment
- Ability to effectively and flexibly operate in a complex, demanding and high risk environment with a high degree of responsibility
