SynergisIT, recognized by Staffing Industry Report as one of the fastest growing private IT staffing companies in the US, is seeking a GIS Developer for a contract assignment for one of our clients in Atlanta, GA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, and implement customized web applications, web services, and enterprise solutions for clients using ESRI's JavaScript API, and Microsoft Silverlight API
Work closely with other developers and product engineers to design and develop public-facing web mapping sites for the management, manipulation, and visualization of spatial data
Assist with application development estimating, planning, and progress tracking
Write comprehensive technical specifications and support documentation
Active and effective participation in various activities within the software development cycle
Interface with customers to identify, develop, and implement custom components for ArcGIS Web API products
Migrate existing ArcGIS Server 10 applications to the current ArcGIS Server release
Migrate ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1 & 10 applications to the current release
Maintain TerraGo Publisher with ArcGIS Server
Maintain ESRI Geoportal
Develop geoprocessing and GIS web services
Process imagery data
Aid in integrating data into enterprise geodatabase
Deploying GIS web editing/mapping applications
Conducting performance/unit/system/integration testing of applications
Contributing to knowledge base and teaching others
Developer will also participate in implementations ESRI Roads and Highways, Bentley ProjectWise, and Agile Assets.
All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENT:

Strong teamwork skills
Ability to solve any number of problems from code bugs to database connectivity to Application Server or operating system failures
Experience with industry-standard technologies such as HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, Git, HTML5, Dojo, and/or Java
Comfort working in Microsoft or Java-based realms: operating systems and platforms (.NET, JEE), application Servers (IIS, Tomcat), architecture, implementation patterns
Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical project managers or customers
Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS Runtime and their associated APIs or interfaces
Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc.
Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud
Knowledge of IT security concepts such as SSL/TLS, tokens, hardened systems, PKI
Knowledge of UNIX/Linux OS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's in geography, GIS, computer science, or a related field
