Location: Barrington, IL 60010

Duration: 3 months (Contract)

Description:
The Technical Writer creates software product and service documentation for end users and service engineers.

Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and manage all documentations requirements.
Review, edit and test documentation
Track and fix documentation defects
Assist in the development and implementation of the user documentation strategy
Crete work breakdown structures, document product plans and documentation staffing/resourcing plans. Manage work plans through the entire software development process
The technical writer II may be asked the coordinate the work of other technical writers.

Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism or a similar field or Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of Technical Writing or Journalism or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and 4 years progressive experience as Technical Writer or Journalism)
2.5+ years experience writing and editing software documentation
3.Demonstrated proficiency in the following: Arbortext and Frame worker - Must have!
4.Proven ability to work independently and in teams
5.Experience with user interface design and usability testing
6.Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, presentation skills and technical communication skills.
7.Previous project or team leadership experience; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Experience working with global development sites
2.Experience managing software documentation projects and staff
3.Experience in an Agile software environment
4.Previous supervisory experience, including global and/or virtual team
5.Experience in a health-care related field.
