My client is currently seeking an experienced Software Distribution Specialist to be based in Ballart. The suitable candidate will be working closely with a team of Software Packagers who are also located in Ballarat.
Ideally local candidates are preferred however the client is more than happy to look at candidates who wish to travel to Ballarat from Melbourne daily or relocate for the duration of the contract.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Undertake usage of a wide variety of software distribution tools, including but not limited to, SMS 2003, SCCM 2007, Active Directory, WSUS and Tivoli.
- Complete distribution of packaged software using an automated solution to client environments.
- Complete distribution of software and security updates to client environments using a cyclical based approach
- Understanding and completing complex reporting on all deliverables, including data manipulation and presentation.
- Complete pre-distribution analysis on work requests, determining and locating missing or incorrect information.
- Resolve complex application distribution and compatibility issues arising as a consequence of software deployment (including versioning problems, software sociability requirements and network issues).
- Working with all current and immerging technologies to automate and script all processes where possible
- Remediating software distribution deliverables and endpoints where required
- Identifying the requirement for maintenance of software distribution tools.
- Work closely with the distribution and infrastructure support teams
- Following detailed documentation to meet desired delivery outcome
- Updating and creating detailed and accurate documentation where applicable.
To be successful in this role you must have the following skills:
- At least 1 years Software Packaging and or Software Distribution experience op operating systems including but not limited to, Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7, Windows NT, Server 2000, 2003 and 2008 - in both 32 and 64bit configurations
- Strong SCCM 2007 experience
- Experience working with high focus and critical software packages and there distributions.
