The Configuration Management Analyst will report to and support the Service Asset and Configuration Manager and be responsible for the following activities:
To establish the Software Product baseline for the MoD owned Dii/F Infrastructure
To establish the Server Build Type (SBT) Product list for all Dii/F Server Types
To establish the Software Product Usage map for all licensable Dii/F software
The Configuration Management Analyst will
Have Infrastructure Configuration Management (CM) experience required to control and verify the configuration of the MoD development and operational IT infrastructure
Understand Server Software Builds and Software Licensing practices
Ideally have experience of an ITIL v2/3 SACM large scale implementation
Have a background working within a network Configuration Management environment and have a working knowledge of software and hardware configuration management, using tools such as Serena Dimensions, assist, HP Service Manager, uCMDB etc
Have knowledge of software product deployment (not build and release) across multiple environments
Have an understanding of Asset and Licence Management
Have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with members of all Engineering and Support teams. They should be comfortable performing admin tasks and be pro-active in their approach to work
Have a strong analytical approach to work with attention to detail, the candidate should also show a commitment to service improvement and quality
Have the ability to perform alone and as part of a team and to be able to monitor own workload to be effective member of the team
Have exposure to and understanding of recognised best practices and methodologies such as ITIL v2/3 and Prince2
Have strong communication skills
Be able to practice excellent work prioritisation and time management
Be disciplined to follow work instructions faithfully, and to deliver improvements as a well managed change

Skills - Mandatory:
Working experience and knowledge of the ITIL v2/3 principles governing the activities of the role.
Working experience and knowledge of Configuration/Asset Management toolsets.
Ability to maintain Access database entries and extract queries/reports.

Description of Project:
Fujitsu's Defence and National Security Capability Unit provides highly skilled Security Cleared Engineers, Architects and Developers into the many projects that it runs for it's Government, International and Defence Contractor customer base.

As part of this growth, the Hosting and Network Services team has an additional requirement to provide a Product Baseline database. The Role is required to establish the software product baseline across the server infrastructure, and will be required to compare LIVE server Product' configurations with the expected Product' configuration. Additionally, the role will be required to establish the software usage count/s and ensure Software Licence Compliancy.
