We have an exciting opening for a Sr. Server Administrator position with our progressive client in the Columbia, SC area. This is long-term contract position. Excellent communication skills required.

Job Responsibilities:
-- Individual will work within the operational processes of break/fix, maintenance, and new project work to deploy server infrastructure including Windows Server Operating systems and hardware.
-- Administers use, capacity and performance of server systems. Focuses on multiple aspects of server operations across multiple platforms. Works with end users and vendors to resolve server issues.
Upgrades and configures server devices from multiple vendors.
-- Maintains effective relationships with external suppliers to ensure appropriate levels of support. Schedules, plans, and performs system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments.
-- Confers with users to resolve problems affecting server performance. Validates and adjusts server configuration as needed. Generates server utilization/trending/error reports as requested. Observes and controls the status and performance of all components of server/system facilities.
Candidate Requirements:
-- Experience in installing, maintaining, and administering Oracle Solaris 10 and 11
-- Experience in installing, maintaining, and administering Red Hat Linux 5 & 6
-- Shell Scripting
-- Intel-based hardware and VMWare virtual machine provisioning experience
-- Microsoft Windows Server Operating System & Software provisioning experience to include preparing a server with the appropriate systems, data, and software to make it ready for network operation, etc.
-- Enterprise data center automation systems experience including server deployment automation
-- Windows Server Scripting experience to include PowerShell and VBScript
-- Database experience to include Microsoft SQL Server (Highly Desired)
-- Web server experience to include Microsoft IIS (Highly Desired)
