SUPPORT - .NET - Amsterdam
My client based in Amsterdam is currently looking for a Microsoft .NET Development Support Engineer.
Please note that this is not a typical development position. The successful candidate should be able to read and understand 'code' (.Net C# SQL etc) but not necessarily write 'code'. Minimum of two years of support experience in a similar environment. Focus is on support and maintenance of 'code' and solving 'tickets'. Typical soft skills: being able to talk to and understand the internal client and business, strong communication skills, customer faced character, flexible and pro active.
This position is in a very fast moving and dynamic environment, multi cultural, multi timezone and multi disciplined. The candidate must speak English fluently.
The chosen candidate might continue in a position as developer but initially will be coming in as a Support Engineer.
Primary responsibilities:
* Supports eCommerce applications at various levels (code, data, SSIS packages, etc)
* Communicates appropriately with internal customers reporting issues (from ticket opening to resolution)
* Resolves issues within given SLAs
* Is able to manage priorities and high variety of incidents
* Translate business requirements into well-designed and documented software components based on Microsoft technologies (.NET,MVC, SQL).
* Execute milestones in a fast-paced setup that is constantly faced with requirements that may stretch capacity.
* Exhibit and establish a culture of quality and standards in software development.
* Be able to provide application support within and without normal business hours
Desired Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in IT Operations support in a Global Organization
* Proven Web and eCommerce Knowledge
* 3+ years of .NET development experience.
* 3+ years of enterprise-class E-commerce development experience.
* 3+ years of experience in writing, optimizing SQL procedures and packages, heavy duty SQL queries.
* 2+ years of experience in a developer role on large web development projects.
* Extremely fluent in .NET, ASP.NET (C#), N-Tier development, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), XML-based web services.
* Fluent in MS SQL Server, DB architecture/design, SQL development.
* Experience with Web 2.0 technologies, JQuery, Javascript, Ajax frameworks, HTML, CSS.
* Experience with localization support in a web application (language, formatting of currency/numbers).
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
* Experienced in TDD (Test Driven Development).
* Experience building secure web applications, user authentication, N-Tier architecture, DB/file encryption techniques.
* Excellent debugging skills; able to debug complex technical issues involving browsers, multiple client & server system components.
* Experience advocating for and using new technology to build applications of the future.
* Familiarity with well-known security vulnerabilities and ability to address such vulnerabilities.
* Familiarity with performance analysis of a web application.
* Effective problem solving and risk assessment skills.
* Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
