Key skills: Linux Redhat, Debian, Ubuntu (Solaris or HP/UX); Windows Server - AD; DNS (infoblox)/ DHCP/ LDAP / Kerberos/ Radius; virtualisation - VMWare; PHP/ Perl/ Python/ Ruby/ Powershell/ VB Scripting; monitoring system- Nagios; Web technologies- Apache/ Tomcat/ Squid; deploying proxy servers; load balancing; MySQL / SQL.
Project details: A higher education institution in the South East is currently looking for an experienced System Administrator to facilitate an essential web server and development project.
Working alongside the highly gifted team you will use your knowledge of LAMP elements to provide hands expertise with the Linux Operating System, Apache and Tomcat web servers, MySQL database management and scripting with PHP, Perl or Python. You will also have experience with virtualisation using VMware.
You will be technically minded and have extensive previous hands-on experience working with web servers and monitoring systems. As System Administrator you will also use you strong experience with the Nagios monitoring system to drive this project to completion and ensure essential university backend systems are up and running.
