* Opportunity for an ambitious UNIX administrator with some skills with AIX to take control of an AIX enterprise level environment *Role: UNIX / AIX System Administrator
Type: 12 month fixed term
Salary: €50K (can be flexible for the right candidate)

You will be working for one of the biggest manufacturing companies in the world, working on enterprise level systems. This is a varied environment which means that you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge in areas of interest on enterprise systems.
You will take ownership of the AIX servers (11 running AIX 6.1). There are 2 physical servers running the 11 on LPars. There is a bigger AIX team for the global company for support when needed. You will have the opportunity to really make your mark and determine changes to the environment.
You must have exposure to AIX systems in order to qualify for this role. Some experience with Tivoli, Windows and Oracle would also be beneficial for the projects planned for this year.
2 main projects:
- Disaster Recovery test coming up:
The DR infrastructure is in, but testing and the documentation to go with that has to be done. You will coordinate with the SAN, Application and Oracle teams.
- Tivoli monitoring:
The monitoring needs to be defined, the alerts aren't targeted where they need to be targeted, no report for capacity planning- so this will be a project to take ownership of.
Required Skills:
- UNIX administration skills- some AIX
