Role - Vendor Manager

Contract - 12 months
Location - London
Clearance level - BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)

Vendor Manager required to review major vendors service delivery contracts, ensuring performance and delivery costs are as agreed, and challenging them on future service improvements and efficiency savings.
Act as a subject matter expert on designated IT vendors acting as key vendor reference point for contractual, commercial and IT strategy and capabilities.

Essential skills & experience:
* You will be an experienced IT professional with a background in working with complex multiple out sourced vendors.
* You will have experience in financial commercial modelling.
* You will have an understanding of the organisation's IT/Information Systems plans, business objectives and some awareness of comparable organisations.
* You will be aware of Government financial accounting treatments.
* You will have wide and detailed IT knowledge, together with detailed understanding of the principles of business and markets and sound experience of relevant business sectors.
* You will be able to operate comfortably at senior levels in a variety of situations.
* You will have strong communications, relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills.
* You will have an analytical and creative approach to problem solving.

Desirable:
* Familiarity with the Government IT Profession and cross government IT policies.
* Understanding of the Government and working in the Justice system.
* Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to the Government/Public Sector IT - eg Data Protection Act, Information Assurance policy.
* Awareness of the social, environmental and corporate impact of ICT.
