Your tasks:
- Scientific research & fundamental engineering in the areas of digital signal processing algorithms for mm-wave radar systems with antenna arrays, specifically to increase the resolution/accuracy and improve target detection, tracking and classification performance
- Algorithm development and testing using experimental RADAR systems which consist of analogue µ-wave/mm-wave building blocks and state-of-the-art DSP/FPGA platforms connected to PC based signal processing verification frameworks.
Your qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and broad theoretical understanding in modern signal processing methods - ability to apply theoretical and mathematical knowledge to scientific and engineering challenges
- Understanding of radar waveform design, MIMO signal processing and beamforming, channel sounding/equalisation methods and generalized signal processing related to wireless communication and radar systems. System & block level understanding of modern radar and communication systems
- Hand-on experience (from theory and implementation/optimisation) in specific RADAR algorithms such as target detection, target tracking, classification
- Demonstrated experience in modelling of systems and algorithms using state-of-the-art simulation tools i.e. MATLAB, hands-on experience with hardware testbeds and laboratory measurement equipment
- Self-motivation and ability to learn and apply knowledge in new area of technology
- Dipl.-Ing., Master, PhD or similar qualification in the areas of communication engineering, digital signals processing or applied mathematics. Professional experience (i.e. in industry or R&D) is an advantage
- Like working in an international team and the ability to communicate in English (written and spoken)
