I have a new opportunity to work for a major logistic firm. My client is seeking an highly experienced Mobile Solutions architect to work on varied programmes utilizing a variety of technologies with a multitude of other disciplines. You will be expected to take complex business problems and be able to translate them into IS/IT deliverables that can be understood by technical and non-technical staff, suppliers and customers. You will be instrumental in ensuring that IIT investment is implemented in a form that can be easily maintained, operated and managed over a period of years.You will offer all these skills in the exploitation of Mobile technologies particularly with regards to hand held devices and PDAs.
Key responsibilities:
- The Mobile Solution Architect will be responsible for producing mobile logical architectures across all technology tiers for bespoke and COTS based programmes.
- Develop Mobile technology specifications and leverage existing technologies to ensure new technology solutions are designed for optimal business use.
- Applying architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet business requirements, considering scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, flexibility, availability and manageability.
- Help Identify the Mobile technologies to employ and take responsibility for the assurance and governance of supplier solutions.
- Responsible for defining complex technical requirements for inclusion in procurements
- Work with standard architecture lifecycles and frameworks
Key skills/Experience:
- Must have logistics experience
- Demonstrable experience of handhelds implementation (software; network and hardware)
- Data Migration and MDM experience
- Ability to see the strategic view whilst at the same time adopting pragmatic approaches to delivery.
- Responsible for assuring the design of Information Systems
- Identification and design of architectural improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrable experience of data capture in a mobile/handheld environment.
- Security experience when applied to a mobile environment.
- Experience of design in both Microsoft and Java stack
