The Senior IT Project Manager will provide project oversight and direction for Marketing Resource Management and Digital Asset Management systems and initiatives. The Senior IT Project Manager will work closely with IT, Business, and external third-party service providers to deliver high quality, customer-focused technology solutions and support services that provide substantial value. Works on projects and other activities of varying duration from 1 - 6 months. Depending on project assignments, this position will be responsible for completing some or all of the project tasks related to requirement definition and other required documentation. Must be accustom to working with shared resources that have multiple assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate and plan IT projects: Work with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives and deliverables.
  • Work with department management, stakeholders and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution on issues and risks.
  • Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect project work within the department in order to gain agreement for resolution.
  • Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget
  • Executing and Closing Projects: Develops and executes a work breakdown structure, obtaining resources to ensure all activities are performed as planned. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Department and Division management.
  • Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities.
  • Manages completion of project tasks assigned to cross-functional project team of business analysts, vendors, business clients, and testers.
  • Identifies issues that lead to (are considered for) process improvement and helps to implement solution.
  • Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, and Department management.
  • Manages the activities and people associated with the project and the success of that project.
  • Works with user to identify the user's need.
  • Delivers quality systems solutions to business problems.
  • Develops conceptual level requirements in the analysis phase.
  • Supports the production environment proactively through tracking management activities.
  • Responsible for the ongoing systems needs of the client/user community.
Competencies: Provide supervision; develop group goals and objectives; monitor and control client production charges; develop and evaluate staffing plans; utilizes formal SDLC to coordinate system development activities; provide project status reports; identify and define user needs; analyze project proposals; develop conceptual systems requirements; develop systems integration requirements; develop systems phasing plan; provide business application consultation; provide problem tracking/management; and prepare and deliver presentations.

SKILLS:

Minimum Experience:
  • At least 6 years experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment
  • At least 3 years experience managing projects.
  • Total Combined Experience: 7-10 years
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Information Services, or Computer Science preferred; four to six years consulting experience preferred.
  • Eight to twelve years experience, including at least two years professional consulting and two years in program/project management
  • Formal training in SDLC methodologies
  • Good analytical and problem solving ability, creativity, and insight
  • Proven ability to motivate employees and create a positive working environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a strong political awareness.
