Progressive Global Energy has been tasked with sourcing a Geoscience Technician II. Due to rapid growth, our client is seeking to quickly fill new positions in their Geoscience Department in both their Houston, TX and Denver, CO locations.The Role:
Responsible for loading and updating well data and well locations in existing databases using appropriate software. Responsible for creation of cross-sections. digitized maps, Powerpoint slides, montages, charts and reports as required. Maintains company geophysical and geological database file systems and records archives. Assists in the maintenance of monthly subscriptions, maintenance agreements, license agreements, scout information and data release as required.
Job description:
- Files, retrieves, creates and maintains geological/geophysical data including 2D & 3D seismic trace data
- Loads and updates well data and well locations in existing databases using appropriate software
Provides routine support duties in all exploration functions including creation of cross-sections, digitized maps, synthetic seismograms, geophysical models, PowerPoint slides, montages, charts and reports as required - Generates and compiles information required for government regulatory compliance
- Maintains company geophysical/geological databases, file systems and records archives
Helps maintain monthly subscriptions, maintenance agreements, license agreements, scout information and data releases as required - Prepares support documentation for portfolio presentations
- Provides routine maintenance and re-supply of appropriate equipment as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
- Five or more years of oil & gas experience required
- Five or more years work experience required
- Or College degree with three years oil & gas experience
- Excellent analytical & mathematical skills
- Good communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of standard geological/geophysical displays and well logs
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Lotus Notes and Power Point
- Excellent knowledge of specific software systems, terminology and procedures
