Management Accountant
Location: Birmingham
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Rate: £325 per day

Management Accountant required with the following Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Essential
* Full membership of relevant professional body or possession of sufficient experience to fulfil the requirements of the role without membership of the relevant professional body.
* Relevant post qualification experience.
Desirable
*Experience in project accounting for large construction projects.
*Experience of Oracle-based systems.

Key Accountabilities
1.Provide financial advice and support to the Director and Programme Managers to support business decisions and maintain financial control.
2.Support the preparation of business plans, budgets and rolling forecast, providing specialist advice. Consolidate and challenge plans, budget submissions and rolling forecasts.
3.Maintain budgetary control over the programme of works by the reporting, analysis and tracking of variances, risks/opportunities and efficiencies to the Director and Programme Managers in an appropriate format and timely manner.
4.Consolidate and review periodic financial results and forecasts for the Route for submission to Regional Directors and the Financial Controller.
5.Report on Operating Expenditure cost centre performance for the Route Delivery Director and Programme Managers.
6.Maintain accounting procedures to drive integrity of costs, income, forecasts and budgets and complete all technical accounting tasks in line with current standards and rules.
7.Champion corporate governance processes within projects and monitor compliance.
8.Liaise with the Central Accounting Services Team and the Commercial & Programme Controls teams to drive full understanding and ownership of project costs.
9.Co-ordinate the collection of key financial and non-financial data from other functions and produce financial review packs highlighting any significant issues and trends with financial and other business result
10.Support the timely collection of debts, and payment of creditors, and the supply of accurate cash forecasts as required.
