A Software Engineer is required by a global leading semiconductor organisation on a long term contract basis. Their systems are used by the major semiconductor manufacturers to create integrated circuits that power an array of electronic, communications and IT products.

Job Mission
ARE(Automatic Recovery Engine) is a tool widely used by the engineers in the field to generate the recovery sequence. It has become mission critical for recovery of the clients systems after repair, update or preventive maintenance. Despite the crucial function for the client, this tooling is still on proto level and related processes for content and maintenance are informally organised. ARE is trying to create a standard governance for the ARE tooling and content. The tool is now evolving from a mix of Excel, VBA, Python, C, Matlab to a unified JAVA solution. Engine and interface are the first step. In the future sequence output and content editor will also be changed to a Java solution and we are looking for the right person to expand the team on this project.

Job Responsibilities
A Software Engineer is responsible for:
- Incident change or bug fix regarding VBA code
- Improve and monitor the daily build process. MS-DOS batch scripts are concerned for this work. This build environment has eventually to be aligned with standard.
- Future migration to Java code of (parts of) the current content editor.

Job Requirement
- Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering domain
- Must have 3 years work experience after degree
- Key technologies we are looking for:
• Visual Basic
• Excel Programming
• Structured Way of Working
• PC based build environment
• Batch Scripts
• White Box testing
• SVN
• Java is desirable

Personal Skills
-Self propelling, working on a specific personal task in a small team.
-Supportive towards stepwise migration of the software towards more robust designs, while at the same time serving a worldwide installed base.
