Are you an experienced Welding Engineer looking for an exciting new contract in South Africa for 24 months?
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and be responsible for all procedure qualifications and documentation approval for the power station Boilers.
- Control man hours allowed for erection, ensure all budgets are met or improved
- This includes updating construction schedules and assisting with drawing up of construction schedules.
- Be responsible for all welder qualification, documentation and procedures.
- Ensure high standards of safety and quality are adhered to.
- Assist the Senior Construction Manager in running the site in a safe manner and within budget and on time.
- Must be able to work unsupervised and lead a team.
- Must report all deviations from the scope of work timeously in writing to the Senior construction Manager.
- Must maintain and run a computer based weld record system that will ensure management reports, repair rates, compressive weld reports are generated and all records are maintained to ensure the information can be included in the data books.
EXPERIENCE:
- The appointed candid must have at least 15 years experience in the welding of pressure and hp piping on boilers.
- Must be quality conscious and must have a good understanding of QIP’s and quality procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A recognized trade in the field of welding and must have a least a level 1 & 2 welding supervisor/ inspection certificate.
- Must have a diploma from a reputable institute e.g. a (IWE) from the welding institute
