Role - Oracle/SQL DBA
Location - Taunton
Contract - 6 months
Clearance level - SC/DV Clearance required
SC Cleared Oracle/SQL DBA required initially 6 months, location Taunton, Somerset.
This is a hybrid role and we require someone with Oracle and SQL experience, SQL being the primary technology used. The role will be divided up of 80% SQL DBA and 20% Oracle.
Experience & skills required:
*Oracle 10g, 11g Administration.
*Oracle Recovery Manager
*Oracle Grid
*Oracle Performance tuning
*Oracle DataGuard
*SQL Server SQL Server Clustering/Mirroring T-SQL
*knowledge of SQL 2012 Resource Groups and advantage.
Key Tasks & Deliverables:
*To provide technical support for the Oracle/SQL databases which are supported by the Database Administration Team. This includes such activities as ensuring security and resilience of the databases so as to provide a service in accordance with the relevant SLA's.
*To provide technical input into projects, to help design the most appropriate systems with regard to security, resilience, functionality etc
*Using system administration tools to investigate diagnose and resolve complex and/or high risk problems to maintain service level agreement levels, referring to users, other staff, the help desk and suppliers as necessary. This also involves analysing consistent problems and providing long term pro-active fixes.
*Carry out complex configuration/installation and reconfiguration of hardware and software for business as usual changes or projects as required.
