Role - SQL Server DBA
Location - Taunton, Somerset
Contract - 6 months
Security Clearance - SC/DV Cleared
A SC Cleared SQL Server DBA required initially 6 months, location Taunton, Somerset.
Experience required:
MS SQL Server 2008 R2 MS SQL Server 2012 MS SQL Mirroring SSIS, SSRS Any experience with availability groups an advantage.
*To provide technical support for the MS SQL Server databases, and to a lesser extent Oracle, which are supported by the Database Administration Team. This includes such activities as ensuring security and resilience of the databases so as to provide a service in accordance with the relevant SLA's.
*To provide technical input into projects, to help design the most appropriate systems with regard to security, resilience, functionality etc
*Using system administration tools to investigate diagnose and resolve complex and/or high risk problems to maintain service level agreement levels, referring to users, other staff, the help desk and suppliers as necessary. This also involves analysing consistent problems and providing long term pro-active fixes.
*Carry out complex configuration/installation and reconfiguration of hardware and software for business as usual changes or projects as required.
*Carry out research and development of technical products in accordance to business as usual [eg, platform upgrade] or project requirements. Provide technical options papers with risk analysis, costs and implementation plans.
*Define and maintain system documentation, ie, standards, security orders, procedures, configuration information, help desk calls, etc, and ensure that less experienced staff are instructed in their use.
This role requires candidates to hold current SC/DV Clearance.
