We have an exciting opening for a Sr. Java Developer position with our progressive client in the Morrisville, NC area. This is a short-term contract opportunity. Excellent communication skills required.

Candidate Requirements:
- Hands on Java experience
- Strong database skills, preferably with multiple databases.
- Be able to understand execution plans and to optimize queries.
- Experience in developing distributed applications.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and IP Networking concepts.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems: Windows, UNIX, (especially Linux)
- Experience implementing J2EE web applications using JSP, Servlets, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with the following Java/J2EE API's: JDBC, JAXB, iText, and generic XML API's.
- Experience with development tools: Eclipse, Jenkins, Ant, Gherkin, Selenium, JUnit.
- Experience writing SOAP and REST web services that interact with .NET and other non-Java languages.
- Soap/Rest - not just API but architectural understanding. Later this year/early next we're going to start moving key functionality to SOA and then potentially the cloud. Right now I'm the only Embedded member of my team with good experience with this.
- Agile experience
- Experience working in environments with good development practices (CI, Automated Testing, Code Review, Unit Testing, BDD, TDD, etc).
- Product development experience
