MSC Technical Engineer - Cardiff
Square one are looking for a MSC Engineer to work on site for an initial 3 month contract based in Cardiff.
- Monitoring & managing of customers' network & infrastructure via CA Spectrum & BMC Proactive Net. Spectrum is used to monitoring the networking infrastructure (Switches, Routers, LAN/WAN connectivity).
- Configuring, setting up & troubleshooting Cisco Switches & Routers (range from Cisco800 series Routers to 7800, 2600 series Switches to 6200 Switches. Also provide support for Wireless Switches - 3com4400 & 5500 as well as Extreme Switches.
- Troubleshooting networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EDGE using a variety of diagnostic tools.
- Using ripe for example to check for flapping BGP connections. Basic Unix/AIX administration - processing feeds, running batch scripts.
This is a telephone based role supporting Technical Architects and Project managers throughout the organisation on a number of their client sites.
This is an initial 3 month contract with a view to extend or move to a permanent role if both parties are happy.
