Description
The successful SQL DBA will be tasked with developing and supporting a large (multi-GB, multi-instance and cross-site) SQL Server environment. This is a 24/7 site and the successful candidate will have experience in supporting high-availability systems.Technical Skills:
- SQL Server (2008 and above - 2012 would be ideal) and MS/SQL Azure
- ETL (SSIS)
- MS BI Stack (SSRS/SSAS) - (desirable)
Responsibilities:
- Generate, configure, and optimise the performance of the databases
- Support the efforts of the test lead and deployment lead to plan, manage, and deploy the application
- Operate and support the database
- Update logical and physical database designs with changes
- Document benchmarks and procedures needed to optimise performance. Ensure that all guidelines are followed
- Provide input on any design decisions for interfacing or integrating databases
- Work with the configuration manager to determine change control and impact analysis for the databases
- Plan disaster recovery and execution activities
