Job Title – Shunting and Yard Coordinator
Reports to – Locomotive Workshop supervisor
Department – Rolling Stock / Direct Reports – 18+
Job Description
Coordinate, schedule and manage the yard shunting activities.
The Shunting and Yard Co-ordinator liases between RS Maintenance Foremen and Ops Dept to ensure that rolling stock is moved into place timeously for maintenance, and is handed over to Operations Dept for service.
Job Duties:
- Ensure that rolling stock is moved within the Yards.
- Ensure that Procedures are up to date, simple and effective.
- Ensure that Procedures are followed.
- Ensure Safety Standards are met.
- Supervise the Yard Controllers, Yard Drivers, and Shunters.
Qualification
- Minimum diploma
Experience
- 6 years relevant experience.
- Experience with a Freight Railway will be an advantage.
