Community Benefit Tax-Exempt Project Lead

Job Description:

The Community Benefit Tax-Exempt Project Lead will be responsible to build a compendium of information that will enable us to demonstrate that each affiliated organization is deserving of its exemption under federal and state law. The Project Lead will proactively prepare the NW Region and National Program Office for new and emerging organizational and federal requirements around a minimum standard for nonprofit tax exemption. The Project lead will manage the collection of the Tax-Exempt Dossier document process, embed process improvement methods and disseminate this knowledge through appropriate communication including federal, state, county and city level mandated tax exempt nonprofit reporting. The Project Lead will need to ensure timeliness, accuracy and exceptional communication skills in both technical and creative writing.
Develop, plan and execute 2.0 National Tax-Exempt Dossier program on behalf of the NW Region.
Ensure all tax compliance compliance/reporting requirements are met through written form for all CB programs including 990, state, and federal.
Work with National Program Office on implementation of Dossier system.
Work with General Accounting on program descriptions and identify linkages to strengthen connectivity among all CB programs.
Design and develop reports demonstrating our nonprofit mission.
Work collaboratively across CB portfolio in order to elevate the full value of our charitable mission and demonstrate tax exempt purpose.
Identify ways to leverage the full value of our charitable mission and demonstrate the tax exemption.
Develop and implement anecdotal content throughout the CB portfolio that strengthens our nonprofit mission.
Be able to collectively tell the CB portfolio story through written communications.
Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the CB Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR 2014

CB Knowledge Dissemination:
Write narrative portion of the State, Federal and any other tax exempt required compliance reporting.
Define and evolve reporting to being to demonstrate charitable mission at county levels by linking reporting systems.
Create and maintain CB newsletter.
Work with BCPR partners to ensure CB collaterals are current, engaging, and accurate information being represented.
Identify new methods of publicizing the CB investments.

Tax Dossier:
-Develop timeline and work plan for 2013 Tax-Exempt Dossier document collection.
-Lead all Tax-Exempt Dossier review and remediation efforts for NW Region.
-Help inform strategy while coordinating efforts with all CB stakeholders.
-Ensure the NW Region can demonstrate solid documentation for all entities of Community Benefit activities and can demonstrate substantial benefits to the entire community in the event of an IRS audit.
-Manage and maintain SharePoint document collection platform.
-Train stakeholders on processes and systems for collection content.
-Manage Dossier program for NW region and act as a strategic partner to National to influence and advance program.
-Identify strategic messages to further enhance CB program worth and investment to the community.

REQUIREMENTS:

Min. 2 years experience in health care, health promotion and/or community health

Excellent written and verbal skills

Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and/or other web-based research tools

Strong proven project management skills.
Thorough knowledge of organizational and governance systems of governmental, not-for-profit and health care organizations

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituencies

Excellent skills in conducting effective meetings

Working knowledge of portable document format (PDF) technologies, file transfer and other electronic transfer skills.

Bachelor's Degree in communication, business or public health
