We have an exciting opening for a Usability Designer position with our progressive client in the Columbia, SC area. This is a long-term contract position. Excellent communication skills required.

Job Responsibilities:
The UI Designer will transform highly complex concepts and requirements into application interfaces that are easy to use and understand. He/she will need to apply superior visual design craftsmanship to support the web development process and anticipate user needs.
-Provide estimates and timelines
-Deliver detailed artifacts and assets for software applications
-Wireframe, storyboard, prototype, and test complex user interfaces
-Work with usability team, design architects and development teams to ensure a superb user experience
-Work with business analyst to develop and iterate design mockups, user stories, and other design documents
Candidate Requirements:
Seeking candidates with strong visual design skills with a portfolio that illustrates their creative skills. Someone who would make it to the popular section of dribbble. Open to candidates with a large body of freelance work (short term contract work). However, must be some experience in a small to medium size company that would illustrate knowledge of working on a larger team or with enterprise level applications.
-- Must have advanced knowledge & solid skills in Front End web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript.
-- Be able to create solid, user-friendly designs and have a portfolio of work to demonstrate first-hand experience.
-- Familiarity with browser-independent coding techniques is a must.
-- Candidate must be able to translate business requirements into wireframes, screen mock-ups, and prototypes.
-- Ability to elicit requirements, create a design, present it to business units and IS staff, and achieve buy-in from each.
-- Must have the ability to coordinate with other departments, organizing information to be useful for the audience of the department.
-- Must also ensure that the design and integration of proposed process, system, software, and hardware solutions lead to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology. Ensuring that department policies, acceptable procedures and standard methodologies are used in all reviews.
-- Ensure cohesion in the customer area and assist both technical and customer departments in the development of the systems.
-- Gain an understanding of the big picture; direction of the various business units, and facilitate the transfer of this understanding to others in the supported business unit.
