Credit Valuation Analyst, Front Office Asset Valuation Analyst, 6months, London, City.
My client, a large Financial Services Organisation, currently seek an Asset Valuation Analyst, or Credit Valuation Analyst, for ASAP start contract work in the City.
You will be responsible for the valuation and modelling of complex and structured transactions as part of a large Asset Valuation Capitalisation Programme. You will operate as one of the analysts within a new team of 4 x Asset Valuation Analysts. The majority of work will be in the credit/Fixed Income space, but a solid understanding of equities, FX and rates is essential. Front Office transaction experience will be required as will relevant asset valuation experience.
Responsibilities:
Undertaking valuation, credit and capital modelling for CRE, ABS, CDS and Corporate Loans
Review/due diligence and approve valuation methodologies and conclusions
Work closely with trade/asset managers to ensure asset assumptions are appropriate
Work with regulatory advisory, finance and the metrics/MI team
Ensure valuation metrics are fed back through the WIP and strategic planning process
Participate in the development of planning infrastructure tools and models that support the entire Planning & Analytics unit
Operate activities within agreed cost budgets and create a culture of cost effectiveness across the firm. Contribute to the success of the cost out initiatives
Ensure failures and shortcomings in policies and procedures are reported.
Raise any identified risk issues in a timely manner
Technical Capabilities:
Ability to analyse complex information including numerical analysis, present key conclusions and withstand challenge from internal and external audiences
Deep knowledge of financial instruments and products
An understanding of regulatory concepts and regulatory economic capital
Microsoft Excel expert and working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and other relevant database/modelling tools (eg. Access, SQL, C#, MatLab)
Ability to produce and/or drive the development of well-supported financial analyses, utilizing data sources to develop robust analyses
Sufficient understanding of corporate finance principles that support internal valuations
In-depth understanding of international financial activities in large corporate organisations
