Description
This is a 1 year contract position for a Network Engineer.
Principle duties/responsibilities:
- Design and implement IP Networks to support new Customer requirements
- Customer interaction to test connectivity, troubleshoot outages with customer and clarify configuration changes
- Communicating network status to internal organizations
- Working with engineering development to escalate problems and to recommend changes to enable more efficient troubleshooting
- Provide support for IP network implementation projects in areas of installation, acceptance testing and issue resolution
- Assist in writing network documentation
- Provide 24x7 support as required
- Provide on-call support as needed according to one's coverage schedule
- Analyzing causes for outages by reviewing logs, view queues and monitoring message links
Requirements:
- Strong experience in IP Network design and implementation
- Strong Juniper networking experience (ScreenOS and JunOS)
- Cisco networking experience (at least CCNP preferred)
- Brocade Network Routers and Switches experience preferred
- Strong data and voice network design
- Expert knowledge of Networking Protocols including Frame Relay, TCP/IP, SS7, X25, etc.
- Expert network troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Effective leadership skills
