Description
We're a boutique UX Design agency looking for a talented UI/Visual Designer to hire on a contract basis. Must have experience with mobile and web interfaces (not just graphic/marketing design). You’ll design and prep detailed user interfaces for mobile and web applications. This includes detailed user interface design, visual design, and design collaboration.
You’ll need 3 - 5 years experience in UI design, sharp eye for details, a strong portfolio and a readiness to dive into deep UI concepts.
Skills we're looking for:
- Experience designing web and mobile interfaces
- Experience with web & mobile development cycles
- Strong visual design skills and background (color, type, layout etc)
- Familiarity / Proficiency with industry software (Sketch preferred, also Adobe suite and various wireframe & prototyping tools)
- Passion for pixel perfection
- Conceptual thinking & visualization
- Focus on user centered design & usability
- Solid understanding of web, IOS & Android technology (you don't need to know how to write the code, but you do need to be able to communicate with developers on process & design)
- Comfortable with online collaboration tools (Basecamp, Jira, etc)
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing complex user interfaces, optimizing for the best possible UX as well as strong visual appeal
- Collaborating with other designers and clients to achieve the best possible design solutions
- Reviewing and proofing designs for pixel perfection
- Answering questions and providing follow up support to developers

- Ability to self manage, but also collaborate when needed
- Willingness to do the boring stuff as well as the fun stuff
- Confidentiality. Our clients like secrecy so we don't blab about their projects.
- Flexibility and comfortable with quickly shifting priorities
- Ability to stay organized and manage lots of details

Local candidates only. There will be a combination of on-site as well as off-site work. To start, roughly 10 - 20 hrs per week onsite.
