Outsource UK Ltd are actively seeking to recruit a for a Project Engineering Lead permanent/contract role on behalf of a client.
The Client:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation
The Job:
To provide engineering lead to a small team of engineers developing a solution that is compliant with the customer requirements, contractual and legislative requirements. This role requires a background of emergency services and experience of leading engineering solutions.
Key Responsibility Areas
Leadership of a multi discipline engineering team
Delivery of the overall engineering solution on time, to cost and performance
Own and implement the overall engineering plan, establishing key milestones and interdependencies
Challenge and validate estimates and scheduled, including forward load requirements
Ensure critical factors such as Unit Production Cost, mass, power consumption, etc are defined, tracked and managed
Support make and buy decisions
Ensure that corrective and preventative action is taken to address non-conformance
Manage compliance of the design solution against the overall requirement, including customer requirements, acceptance, legislative and contractual requirements and product safety requirements, co-operate with the project Chief Engineer to resolve technical or programme conflicts
Evaluate, mitigate and manage engineering risks
Participate in contract status reviews, design reviews and supplier progress reviews and produce targets for action closure
Coach and mentor other engineers as appropriate
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
Engineering Leadership of multidisciplinary teams, Emergency Service Operations and Comms Systems, TETRA radio systems (TETRA, 4GLTE), Systems Engineering developing architectures and detailed solutions
