Top 50 Global Pharmaceutical company requires an Interim CIO for a 12 month project.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO), will provide the technology vision, strategy and leadership for each division and the headquarters of the company. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CIO will work as a technology and business partner to the functional business leaders and is tasked with leveraging systems and technology to support company operations and growth. Additionally, the CIO will lead all aspects of client facing technology implementation and support organization. The CIO will provide vision and leadership to ensure that the company's information technology keeps pace with evolving market and organizational demands and likewise, provides service levels commensurate with a rapidly growing and evolving company. This position requires technical vision, success building business relationships, strong business skills and proven leadership in developing, implementing and supporting IT solutions for both internal and external customers

Job Description:
  • Working as a member of the corporate leadership team, define both tactical and strategic technology plans. Align IT objectives and programs with the organizations overall vision, strategies and objectives.
  • Lead a comprehensive assessment, evaluation and re-engineering of the applications, systems, processes, procedures, budget and staffing for the Information Technology activities of the company with an eye to managing cost while increasing service levels and operational impact.
  • Manage and define all strategic IT initiatives companywide including an IT applications portfolio, IT infrastructure, Network and telecommunications as well as a program and project management function.
  • Lead the IT steering committee that oversees an ongoing business IT planning process (including budgeting and forecasting) that is inclusive, participative, collaborative and comprehensive. Develop methods and standards that are effective in highlighting variances, trends and opportunities for applications, infrastructure, IT service level improvement and spend management; in short, run IT as a business.
  • Serve as a counselor to and catalyst for other senior executives in identifying new areas for technology improvement such as ways to lever Software as a Services, Cloud Computing, Big Data and Business Intelligence/Analytics, resulting in operational efficiencies, increased productivity and profitable use of evolving information systems and communications technologies.
  • Define, implement and monitor IT performance metrics, best practices and continual improvement.
  • Define forward looking architecture that enables both high performance but also the ability for the company to grow and scale.


Required Skills:
  • Pharmaceutical Healthcare industry experience, especially in regards to leveraging technology to support the data intensive and transaction intensive environments.
