This role is seeking a Purchasing Manager or ambitious Senior Buyer who has experience in purchasing one off, high value bespoke components and technical equipment. To do this effectively you will need a strong background within Engineering. Although you do not need an Engineering Degree you must be degree calibre.
This is unique role with a focus not on rationalising or cutting cost from the supplier base but on building the supplier base with a focus on suppliers with unique capabilities and an ability to guarantee high quality product for use in hazardous industries. Once a broader supply base is established stabilising this and looking for competitive buying power will become a focus but the priority will always be quality. Do you have experience building up a supplier base? A passion for ensuring quality at fair prices? Then this role could be a strong match to your skills and interests.
Have you ever implemented or aligned the use of a new a MRP system such as Oracle so it is fit for purpose? Worked with the wider business to cut out non value add activities? This experience is also of high interest with the company utilising an oracle system that would benefit from being further tailored to their needs.
Overall this is an exciting role with a real ability to impact business performance. One you can take ownership of by changing and amending systems and the functions within the purchasing department.
Essential:
- Heavy Engineering Background
- Degree calibre
- CIPS Qualified
- Implemented SAP or Aligned SAP once implemented
- Purchased one off bespoke capital equipment
