Overall Network Program Manager

IMMEDIATE HIRE for an Overall Network Program Manager.  This is a long term, contract position with the work able to be performed remotely, but individuals in the Detroit, MI area are highly preferred!  

Qualified individual will be responsible for leading the overall program to include overseeing Project Managers who will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the team's activities to manage and implement project and/or interrelated projects from contract/proposal initiation to final operational stage.  Candidate MUST have experience in a client facing role and possess exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.  The successful individual for this position will be someone  who has come up through the ranks of network engineering and moved into a Project Manager role and onto a Network Lead/Program Manager position.

This position requires a type A personality and requires a good combination of highly technical and functional skills.  Must be able to jump in and get their hands dirty on the project from a technical perspective if necessary and must also be able to turn around and explain technical requirements to the business folks in layman terms.  Individual must have Enterprise level Program Lead experience to include managing multiple sites.  This role will interface with other executive level managers globally on Data Center moves and/or site closures and will be responsible for constructing a plan of action from the network perspective based off feedback and insight.  

DUTIES:
1.   Overall network program responsibilities to include determining, monitoring, and reviewing all project economics including costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources and risks.
2.   Leads the project team in determining client requirements and translating requirements into operational plans.
3.   Identifies and assembles the appropriate blend of resources to meet project needs and requirements, and manages sub-contractors.
4.   Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project.
5.   Develops project control and reporting procedures and manages changes in operational plan.
6.   Undertakes status review meetings among project team members and clients.
7.   Works with management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules.
8.   Coaches and advises team members to accomplish project goals, to meet established schedules, and resolve technical/operational issues.
9.   Proactively influences customers to apply project planning methodologies.
10. Ensures adherence to legally binding requirements.
11. Controls project requirements, scope, and change management issues.
12. Establishes appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria.
13. Installs appropriate automated systems for management of projects.
14. Develops, proposes, and negotiates project proposals, quotations, and add-ons to leadership and the client.
15. Analyzes needs and recommends appropriate planning concepts and tools to be used for all facets of planning, scheduling, and tracking projects.
16. Analyzes project progress/costs and facilitates the development of recommended alternatives.
17. Integrates and uses project management methodologies.
18. Creates communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders.
19. Advises senior management on project management capability and risk.
20. Maintains awareness on emerging technologies and project management techniques.

REQUIRED:
1.   Minimum 7  to 10 years Network Lead experience in a Data Center/Infrastructure/Networking environment.
2.   Knowledge and experience with networking hardware to include Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
3.   Expert level capabilities within the Microsoft Office suite of tools, especially Excel and Visio.
4.   Professional attention to detail and with a sense of urgency.
5.   Knowledge of IP, including TCP, UDP, NATing, OSPF, and BGP.
6.   Knowledge of IOS stack layer 1, 2, 3.
7.   Experience working with matrixed teams.
8.   Work delivery must be quality focused.
9.  Able to manage work across different geographies and time zones.

EDUCATION:
1. Degree in IT related discipline.

CERTIFICATION:
1.  Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or RegPM/AIPM and/or Prince 2 HIGHLY DESIRED!
