Role: DevOps Support Engineer / Technical Support Engineer
Location: Cork City, Ireland

My client is a brand new, extremely innovative company, a Greenfield site, based in Cork. They offer cloud computing services incorporating big data and data analytics. They are a world leader already who are MASSIVELY invested in by some of the biggest companies in the world.

They are pioneers in terms of technical advances in database systems, high-performance computing and business intelligence. They need pioneers to join them! They have already created extraordinary technology and assembled an army of people with unparallelled expertise in what they do.

They have 3 products all working seamlessly together:
1. PaaS: multi-cloud offering for building highly scalable software
2. Virtual database: the leading provider of speed and scale while also providing data consistency across the globe.
3. Big Data Platform: powered by the huge computing power of their virtual database where business intelligence can be conducted on huge amounts of unstructured data in real time

You will support these products and become Subject Matter Expert for these cloud and big data products. Your role will involve working in a team and supporting their customers who are global giants and all big data consumers such as world leading internet companies, travel websites, telco's banks etc.

They have got technical and business leaders from some of the biggest, large scale computing companies in the world working for them - they are tapping the best minds in the business of Big Data and cloud computing to deliver the next-generation of PaaS, data warehousing and analytics!!

Right now they have a unique opportunity for 3 DevOps support engineers to join their excellent, highly skilled technical team of 4 in Cork.

You must have a keen interest in PaaS & Hadoop. You must be flexible enough to cross train with all their other cloud offerings. You must be confident to bring ideas to the table.

Your skill-set:
- Linux Administration / Engineering
- Basic understanding of deployment tools; BOSH, Chef, Puppet
- Comfortable in administering linux based environments

* Years of experience isn't the most important thing for them. They need innovators!! *

Ideal but not essential:
- Experience with SQL, Java & C++ is highly desired
- Experience in the analysis, design, implementation, and debugging of distributed, data intensive, and/or object-oriented applications, desired.
- Should be proficient in the use of Windows/Solaris/Unix/Linux systems and networks
- Excellent analysis, trouble shooting, and communications skills
- Technical understanding of distributed data management systems
- Experience with object-oriented data management systems highly desirable
