A leading Public Sector client based in Bristol are looking for a Procurement Assistant to assist budget holders in delivering value for money from every pound that the client spend, taking into account whole life costs in delivering environmental outcomes.
The ideal candidate will be required to award and monitor high value high risk regional and national contracts in accordance with the client's procurement policies and procedures. The role will involve promoting procurement procedures and influencing the final outcomes. Providing guidance and leadership to the function in prescribed expenditure categories, leading negotiations with supply partners.
You will be required to engage with national colleagues, building the Procurement network both internally within the client and through a wider network and Government bodies.
This role could include some team leader and mentoring responsibilities.
Must have:
Relevant Procurement experience at a strategic level
Experience of dealing with customers, meeting their expectations and solving problems that may arise
Demonstrates experience of working within a team, managing conflicting demands on time due to working to tight timescales
Evidence of working cross-functionally, meeting expectations of differing customers and partners
Experience of influencing internal and external stakeholders
Experience of working with Microsoft Office Software
Experience of undertaking the lead role on negotiations with supply partners.
