Degree: BachelorsBusiness Analyst with strong Business Intelligence background, including in-depth understanding of BI application design and implementation. Health care Business Intelligence reporting solutions experience preferred, though not required.  

Primary Responsibilities:  
(1) Business Requirements - Conduct analysis of business and user needs in order to develop functional requirements documentation for the implementation or revision of systems and applications projects for specified business units. Utilize expertise in Health Care, Business intelligence, Data Analytics, and Data Warehousing, and understanding of the organization's systems and capabilities to ensure the most efficient use of resources. The primary customers will be the Pharmacy Finance, Pharmacy Operations, and Pharmacy Informatics divisions.  

(2) Testing - Working in conjunction with the business users and development teams, responsible for the creation and execution of application test scripts, scenarios, and test plans that validate initial business requirements.  

(3) Training and Report Support - Assist end users with Business Objects report development and training.  

Detailed Description:  
The role of the business analyst (BA) is to twofold: (1) capture, consolidate, and communicate functional requirements from the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to the IT team, and (2) support end-users with application utilization and report development. This role will also be instrumental in developing a permanent support model once all the KP regions are live on the new Dispensing and Point-of-Sale applications. The BA is a critical resource to support the enhanced BI functionality associated with the new applications. This resource will be required to learn the new applications and data model so as to be able to provide the highest level of service to end users.  

The ideal candidate will have a joint business and IT background and be very knowledgeable of the health care industry. The idea candidate will also understand how the major pieces of data warehousing and Business Intelligence applications fit together. In addition, FP&A experience is preferred.  

JOB FUNCTIONS:  
Understand and document business users' requirements vis-à-vis standardized functional specification documents;  
Elicit requirements using interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis;  
Decompose high-level business requirements into an appropriate level of business rules and detailed user, functional, and non-functional requirements using alternative views such as flows, diagrams, models, and use cases when applicable;  
Conduct Business Objects end-user training sessions;  
Perform ad-hoc reporting and report support, as necessary;  
Lead the identification and documentation of business metrics  
Work with development and business personnel to develop and execute plans to test and validate systems/applications and business requirements - including developing user documentation, first draft of training materials, manual updates, and field communications;  
Manage project documentation deliverables;  
Assist in identifying data quality problems and determine remediation steps.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

Education:  
Bachelor's degree in analytics, informatics, computer science, health care administration, or business.  
Master's degree or MBA in Health Care Management preferred.  

Work Experience:  

Minimum total 5-7 years' experience in healthcare analytics or IT  
Minimum 5-7 years of experience with Business Intelligence tools (ex: HDMS, Cognos, Hyperion/Brio, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Microsoft Analytic Services, etc). Business Objects experience is required.  
3-5 years Business Requirements writing experience  
Data Warehouse experience
