We’re seeking an outstanding user interface designer (UI/UX) who focuses on both the web and mobile. We are looking to find a talented individual who loves making beautiful interfaces and hates making people think. If you are brought onto our team, you will work alongside some of the most incredible and passionate individuals that you have ever met, creating new products and helping our clients grow from all across the world. You must be able to clearly communicate your interface ideas to our team and our clients by using wireframes, storyboards, and Hi-Fi mockups. You are expected to be prompt with communication and punctual with deadlines. You will be able to work remotely (from your home, a local Starbucks, wherever you are most comfortable) and work your own hours outside of our scheduled internal meetings and with our meetings with clients. If we feel that you are the right fit, you will be hired as a 1099 Contractor. You will be supplied a new 1099 Contract for each new project that you handle with us. Please note, you must be a United States citizen in order to work with us at Chop Dawg.
You're a friendly, creative, & pragmatic problem-solver with an obsessive attention to detail. You truly live for great design on both the web and mobile, and you like to go above and beyond for your clients.
Specifically, you have the following —
- Have extensive experience with HTML5, CSS3, and related modern front-end technologies, including a firm grasp of the kinds of user experiences these technologies make possible
- Have extensive experience working with logos, branding, and typography
- Have strong skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Fireworks
- Love collaboration, rapid iteration, & receiving / giving constructive feedback
- Keep up with design trends in blogs, advertising, web apps, print and social media
- Have intimate knowledge of cross-browser, cross-breakpoint CSS challenges
- Enjoy concepting and working through ideas in a collaborative atmosphere
- Are comfortable providing creative critique and recommendations for client products
- Have a strong design sensibility, with the ability to take an established look & feel or style guidelines and run with it
- Have a commitment to user-centered design, web standards, mobile standards, usability, and accessibility
- Thrive and maintain a sense of humor when faced with design and time constraints
Ideally, you also have the following —
- A jaw-dropping portfolio of amazing HTML5 sites, mobile apps, and experiments
- Developed front-ends for PHP apps and applications for mobile devices
- Worked on small development teams and with remote team members
- Experience coding readable, efficient, event-driven JavaScript, and developing Ajax interfaces using frameworks such as jQuery
- A passion for creating beautiful products and building startups that are used by thousands of people every single day
