Description
The Hollywood Reporter & Billboard are overhauling the entire front end stack of both thr.com and Billboard.com. If you obsess over client-side performance, have strong opinions about text editors and stylesheet languages, and want to write automated front-end tests to save yourself time we’d like to talk to you.
This is a temporary role to last between 4 - 6 months.
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years experience working with large enterprise systems
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related discipline; equivalent experience also welcomed
• Experienced with DVCS. We use Git.
• Good at debugging JavaScript• Master of the box model
• Solid working knowledge of image compression algorithms
• Experience with jQuery or other JavaScript frameworks
• Experience with AJAX, JSON, and XML
• Professional, demonstrable experience developing large-scale applications
• Experience with JavaScript libraries/frameworks beyond just jQuery (e.g., Ext, Knockout, Ember, AngularJS, Underscore, Backbone, etc.)
• Strong competency in responsive, mobile-first layouts leveraging CSS and media queries
• Experience with code analysis tools
• Excellent organization, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, a self-starter
• Works well with others; can effectively collaborate across a multi-disciplines
Desired:
• You know front end performance tweaks we don’t
• Experience with A/B testing frameworks
• Experience with DFP
