POSITION OVERVIEWOur client is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join the Engineering Department, reporting to the Subsurface Engineering Manager. Primary responsibilities for this position are managing production data, supporting engineers in production and economic forecasts, maintaining well lists, and generating production summaries for operational assets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing production data and assisting engineers in maintaining production and economic forecasts, as well as providing technical support for other engineering applications.
- Maintain a complete and accurate well list of all properties in the AMI, including field names, Working and Net Revenue interests, region, special area roll-ups.
- Creating weekly production executive summary.
- Generating various daily operations reports as needed.
- Update Aries database as required. Create new projects within Aries for Engineers as needed.
- Provide support to field staff on Reporting, Production Surveillance, Downtime, as needed
- Support of acquisition opportunities
- Generate executive production reports, perform reserves assessments and prepare corporate quarterly reports.
- Project Lead in evaluation of new data management tools
- Perform QA/QC in monthly production reports before subsurface manager approval
- Data integration between engineering and accounting and land.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prefer bachelors or associates degree in a technical field such as IT, engineering, industrial engineering or related field.
- Prefer 10 to 15 years of engineering technician or engineering database experience for operational assets.
- Prefer advanced or expert experience in Aries. A proven track record of performing economic analysis and also reviewing economic analysis using Aries.
- Programing language experience in SAS and visual basic.
- Production allocation experience using Merak or TOW.
- Knowledge of Spotfire, a plus.
- Knowledge of Wellview.
- Prefer advanced database management skills in MSSQL, ACCESS and ORACLE
- Excellent problem solving skills with a drive for accurate results
- Must be results oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work both independently and as a part of a multi-disciplined teams
- Must be highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Good organization, planning and presentation skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
