Internal Audit Custodian Banking Asset Servicing Management
My client is a leading global custodian banking organisation who require a hands on internal auditor to work on new and existing work streams.
THE ROLE:
* Must be from an Internal Audit background.
* Financial Services background (preferably Asset Servicing/Asset Management). Would welcome people from Insurance and more wider banking backgrounds.
. Exposure to dealing with EMEA requirements.
* A candidate who is aware of the changing regulations.
* Travel may not be required but if it is, it will look to be one week a month.
REQUIREMENTS:
* They are not looking for consultant but seeking a hands-on Auditor that will commit to tasks and bring them to completion as opposed to bringing on an Auditor for an Advisory role.
. Previous experience has shown candidates to not deliver to the set deadlines therefore they must be Delivery focused and be able to adapt to the clients expectations
Team Setup
* Reporting to an Audit Manager.
* No management responsibility for this role required.
* May be part of a global remit which covers country, regional and global requirements. However the EMEA team are more likely to be supporting at a regional level than leading.
Under general supervision, the contractor will conduct and document audits throughout the Corporation. The contractor will work closely with Audit Project Specialists, Audit Project Managers and Audit Managers to confirm the scope of the audit and to devise an appropriate testing approach to be performed during the engagement, providing technical expertise as appropriate.
Major Duties
1. Supports audit teams in executing risk based audit projects. Responsible for the planning, scoping, execution, documenting and communication of audit results to both Audit and Business Unit Management.
2. Provides expertise during the audit engagement.
3. Functions in various roles on audit engagements based on the needs of the team. Conducts and documents audits throughout the Corporation.
4. Utilises understanding of various business units to assess whether operations, services and systems have proper controls in place (ie, design and operating effectiveness of the control environment).
5. During the planning of the audit, develops a budget and/or time frame for how the audit will be completed. Responsible for scoping, executing, documenting and reporting the audit in accordance with stated time frames and Departmental Standards.
6. Applies analytical skills to review and test business processes, perform risk and control assessments, document results and report the audit results including the adequacy of controls.
7. With partners at all levels, communicates audit results and develops and presents recommendations on operations and controls to the business unit.
8. Reviews work to ensure that Departmental Audit Standards have been met.
9. Coordinates with the Specialist Audit Teams (eg, IT, Risk Management) to ensure evaluations of related areas occur timely and cover key areas within the audit engagement.
Knowledge/Skills
* Experience auditing capital markets (eg, foreign exchange) activities together with knowledge of risks and controls of these activities, including operational, compliance and credit risks.
* Extensive knowledge and application of audit procedures and standards (planning, execution and reporting of an audit) obtained through related work experience is required.
* Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures that relate to auditing/accounting standards; analytical skills are necessary to prepare and document audit reviews.
* Knowledge of the operations, functions, and objectives of interfacing areas is required to properly audit operations, services, systems, work flow, and operational impact on other areas.
