My client, a healthcare provider based in Hampshire, require a Computer Services Manager

The ideal candidate must have a recognised higher education qualification or equivalent and/or relevant industry experience and Technical Training in one or more of the following: Server, Networking, Communications, Voice or iSeries.

Experience:

8 - 10 years I.S. experience with a minimum of 2 years project management and/or IT infrastructure management experience

The ideal candidate will be an experienced information services professional with a proven track record in managing the disciplines of an I.S. department.

The specific skill attributes and qualifications include:

  • Demonstrate strong people management, influencing others to achieve the right business outcome, and be skilled in organizing and delivering improvement activities;
  • Experienced in working with information services staff, users and senior management, and motivating others to deliver outcomes;
  • Demonstrable background in supervising in an infrastructure, operations or networking environment;
  • Proven application of capabilities and knowledge in project management, service management, and audit/compliance processes and standards; and,
  • Prior supervisory or management experience in an information technology environment.

This person is responsible for the management of the EMEA Computer Services team

Through organisational, planning and management skills the incumbent will achieve the provision of infrastructure & communications services to agreed service levels in EMEA and the successful completion of all agreed project work. The incumbent will investigate and advise on the use of new technologies appropriate to the running of IS in EMEA. It will be necessary to liaise closely with US based colleagues, other EIS staff and users in a positive and proactive way to ensure the team meets evolving business requirements.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Providing resourcing for functional 2nd line technical support to remote EMEA IT administrators and 1st line technical support and assistance where remote IT skill sets require.

  • Managing the purchasing and billing of infrastructure (including communications) technology & services for all EMEA networks.

  • Familiarity with networking, operations & infrastructure technologies.

  • The incumbent will be the focal point for advertisement and control of standards in regards to hardware provisioning, network & server equipment & management and software distribution and usage in the EMEA region in line with corporate and EMEA policy.

  • This includes directing local staff with infrastructure, operations & network support responsibility & responsibility for the design and implementation of associated technologies within Covidien EMEA.
