Quality Assurance Analyst
Skills: Provide manual testing for the systems, test applications for correctness, reliability, consistency, and ease of use.
Summary:
The individual will assist in the development, review and execution of system test cases; perform Back End testing; write defects on problems found; report status to management on testing activities; and provide support for end-to-end program testing in a development environment to ensure the delivery of high quality web/software applications. Contribute to general test planning and execution for performance testing. Assist in the creation and execution of automation testing and load/stress testing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on testing, execute test cases and scripts independently and in a team environment; perform exploratory testing; perform Back End testing
- Write and execute detailed test cases
- Meet, or contribute to design and planning meetings
- Performs all other duties, responsibilities, and/or position requirements as assigned
Communication:
- Provide consistent and clear status in verbal and written communications with constituents
- Provide recommendations to improve the development process (technical and non-technical)
- Write clear and concise defect reports for resolution in a timely manner following a pre-defined template
- Escalate issues that may affect project deliverables or quality as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field and 5-8 years formal web/software requirements documentation/testing experience
- Experience with Agile testing
- Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive and concise documentation
- Experience accessing and manipulating database data using SQL
- Experience doing Back End/API testing using tools such as SoapUI
- Strong working knowledge of the Internet/web applications
- Excellent problem solving, and analytical skills, with aptitude for learning and creativity
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and in a team environment
- Proven ability to adapt and support changing priorities
