Project Accountant - 6 months - Coleshill
As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the financial accountability for a portfolio of projects, to be the key finance interface for those project teams.
- Minimum of 1 year of project accounting experience, ideally large construction projects.
- Experience of operating financial systems preferably SAP
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in an operational finance environment
- Ability to produce and interpret complex financial reports and analysis, including detailed MI
- Capable of working within a virtual team environment
Key tasks
- Support and challenge project engineers in preparing a robust project out-turn forecast, ensure that this is input in to SAP and accept joint accountability for this.
- For a portfolio of projects, ensure the financial forecast, cost to date and accruals are accurately reflected on SAP.
- Develop and update commissioning forecasts for all schemes in portfolio.
- Provide explanations and analyse driver to explain movements in forecast costs.
- Perform reconciliation between contractor records and SAP and escalate where appropriate.
- Monitor projects are within NG governance both time and cost.
- Support project engineers with comprehensive information to allow the timely closure of projects.
- Provide ad-hoc reports and information as required
There will be occasional travel to other sites required so a driving licence is essential.
Initial contract length 6 months. Candidate will be subject to drugs and alcohol testing.
