Description
For our client a major in utilities we are looking for a solution architect.
You will play a key role in a scrum project environment. Projects are situated in the 'portal area', but are covering different technical layers (Front End, Middleware and a variety of Back End systems) and are also covering a large span of business complexity.
Job description:
Thinks big picture regarding business scope (working closely together with business product owner) and technical solutions, but can easily drill down into the detailed solution if required by the complexity of the solution (or on demand of the developers).
Clearly delineate the responsibilities of each solution component and layer. Decides what part of the scope is provided by which component.
Ensures a pragmatic balance between the project goals and deadlines and the overall IT goals. Ensures compliance of the solution with the overall IT goals.
Ensures the solution design provides the best TCO in the long run by focusing on:
* Future proof technical data model = what is possible, not just what is asked for today
* The minimal required complexity of the overall solution, but not too simplistic
* Challenge developers (if appropriate)
Ensures the solution adheres to clearly defined non-functional requirements.
Design of key technical artifacts before start of development or ensure that the artifacts are designed.
Ensures all developments have been executed according to the design/guidelines.
Continuously review, and if needed adapt the design, as analysis and developments are executed.
Knowledge transfer to operational and security teams
Support of PM in shaping the scope and planning of the project and each phase.
